Chocolate Mint Blast Shake/Dessert

After Eating out you are sometimes offered a chocolate mint. Treat yourself to the same delightful experience with a Chocolate Mint Blast. It has the soothing cool taste of mint and the lusciousness of chocolate from cocoa. The best part of this recipe? It has all the same great flavours and it is healthy for you, yes indeed!

Instead of adding chocolate with added sugars, we use cacao nibs. Cocoa in Nahuatl language means bitter water but there is nothing bitter about this recipe. Cocoa contains a shedload of antioxidants, iron, and fiber with just one ounce or 2 tablespoons! In addition to the usual healthy nutrients, cocoa contains phenylethlamine or PEA that helps us focus and be more alert and anandamide aka the “bliss molecule”. We counter the chocolate flavors with a delightful minty flavour that has shown to provide relief from headaches, nausea, and calms your stomach to ease digestion.

To add a touch of sweetness to this recipe, we use vanilla, banana, and almond milk to make this a delectable snack, dessert, or just because you need a moment to yourself!

1 Cup Spinach
1 Banana, frozen
2 Leaves Fresh Mint
1 Tablespoon Cacao Nibs
¼ Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk


Add all ingredients to your NUTRiBULLET or similar device and extract for 30 seconds, or until smooth.
